Thanksgiving 2009

Since Mike's family lives near Cleveland and my family lives near Louisville, we have gotten into the ritual of alternating holidays between families. One Christmas, on Christmas Day we drove from Cleveland to Louisville and vowed to never do it again. Our routine is we spend Thanksgiving with one family and then Christmas with the other. The following year we simply alternate. This method is working out really well for us because we get to spend a good amount of time with each of our families rather than feeling like we have to rush around. We have already warned both sides that when the baby is old enough to understand Christmas, they will have to come to us!

This year, we spent Thanksgiving with Mike's family. We were able to visit with his cousins from out of town and their children, which was a lot of fun. Next time we see them all for a holiday, we will have our baby boy, and as we found out, Mike's cousin Abby is expecting her third and is only a few weeks behind me. Yay for two new Watts babies!! It is always nice to see everyone and we enjoyed lots of laughs. Mike and I both really love seeing our niece Taylor. She is our only niece and we hardly ever get to spend time with her, so it is really fun to see how quickly she is growing up. We can't wait for her to meet her cousin.

Mike's brother Tom, his cousin Doug and Mike...The boys decided to play some backyard football on Thanksgiving Day to relive their glory days!
Taylor wanted nothing more than to be BFF with Woody and Charley. Woody is GREAT with her and let's just say we have some work to do with Charley. In this shot, Taylor is reading her books to Woody!
