First Trip to the Zoo

On Saturday Mike and I were finally able to take Owen to the zoo. For Christmas, my parents bought him a zoo pass and we hadn't been able to use it yet because of the nonstop rain we've had lately and because of us being out of town. We got to the zoo in the morning when they opened to beat the crowd (great decision) and Owen seemed to enjoy himself. I think he is still a little young to understand, but he did like to look around at all the people and animals. Much to my surprise he didn't call all of the animals "dogs" which is his word of choice!

And the brand new tiger exhibit which opened the day we went. Pretty crazy how close we were able to get. Random fact: tiger organs and bones can go for nearly $50,000 on the black market. Just saying...Mike said, "What in the world would people do with tiger organs." My response, "Make tiger's blood, duh!" 

We even stopped to ride the carousel...Twice! Every time we passed the woman operating the carousel, Owen waved at her. It was so cute!
