Home Sweet Home

On Wednesday, Owen and I headed down to Jeff to spend a few days with my family while Mike went out of town on a business trip. There is no other way I would have rather spent my last three days of maternity leave. While we were there we were able to do quite a few fun things. On Wednesday, we went over to Louisville and visited my friend Ashley and her son Jackson. Ashley let me borrow maternity clothes and I was just as anxious to give them back as I was to borrow them :) Jackson is getting so big and we loved our visit. We also went out to lunch with my dad and Erica on Wednesday and in the evening mom watched Owen while Erica colored my hair. While at lunch the dreaded topic of me going back to work came up. At some point in the conversation I mentioned I didn't know when I was going to have time to clean the house, cook, etc. My dad gave me a piece of advice that I think will stick with me..."Remember, you are raising children, not houses." I thought a lot about what he said and it is very true. I will be incorporating this into our life once I return to work.

Mom took the day off work on Thursday to spend with us. We spent some time over in Louisville shopping and doing a few other things. Unfortunately, when we were leaving the mall we had a minor fender bender in the parking lot. The car was damaged, but we were all just fine. In fact, Owen slept through the entire ordeal. On Thursday evening, my parents took me, my sister Erica and her boyfriend Frank to a really nice steakhouse-Jeff Ruby's- downtown Louisville for our birthday dinner. It was DELICIOUS and we wish Mike would have been with us to celebrate his upcoming b-day as well.

Talk about SPOILED. Since Owen was born, he will only nap in his swing. Therefore when we are out of town visiting family, he typically does not nap. Right after I had Owen, mom wanted to buy a swing, but I told her not to. However, this week she said she was just going to buy one to have for him and all future grandchildren. She bought the same one we have at home and let me tell you....It was UNBELIEVABLE how Owen napped once we got it. He fell asleep within minutes of me putting the thing together.

On Friday morning, my good friend from high school, Lindsey, brought her 6 month old Mitchell over to meet Owen. Mitchell was sooo sweet and so much bigger than the last time I saw him. The boys looked adorable next to one another  and we are so glad they came for a visit.

Who the heck are you?!

Doesn't Owen look so excited to have met a new friend?!?!

What's up guys?!
